Audrey Ann Pryor was born in Norfolk, Va, on August 31, 1937 to Louise and Frank McClain (both deceased). she was the youngest of seven children. Audrey was a God-fearing woman accepting Christ at an early age. As a young woman, she attended Booker T. Washington High School.

After high school, she met the love of her life Paul Pryor and later married on April 5, 1957. From this union they bore their first daughter, Bonita. After the birth of their first-born, they moved to New York City (Bronx and Harlem) and welcomed their daughter Deneen, 7yrs later. During her career, she worked at Leavitt Advertising (New York City) and upon moving to Richmond, VA, worked at Virginia Commonwealth University until retirement.

Audrey lived a life full of grace, strength, and unconditional love. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she was the heart of her family and the last standing of all siblings! She loved having a good time and was known for cutting a rug! Especially line dancing or just dancing period! She enjoyed watching her stories, game shows, and playing a game of bid whist. She mostly loved serving the Lord, singing in the choir, and loved checking on others who were sick or shut in. Even though she was retired, she stayed active! She loved playing her video games, crocheting and was faithful to her treadmill. Most recently, she developed a newfound love for cruising, taking her first cruise for her birthday August 8th, 2025. She loved her daughters, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her family, and when she could, she would take a train ride to visit them and spend quality time with them. She was a beautiful soul, a strong woman who was gentle yet unwavering.
