Betty Marie Williams was born to the late Herbert Charles and Gertrude Mae Williams on July 29, 1930. She was eldest daughter born to this union. She departed this life on December 7, 2018 in Washington, DC.
Betty Marie Williams was educated in the public school systems of Cinnaminson and Palmyra, New Jersey, and was employed as a Head Nurse at Freedmen’s Hospital/Howard University Hospital, where she worked until her retirement. Betty received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Peter’s University and completed advanced studies specializing in psychiatric nursing.
In October of 1967, Betty was united in marriage to Agustus L. Budd who preceded her in death in 1978.
Some of her favorite past times included bowling, avid reading, keeping up her computer skills, socializing with friends and family, and singing.
At Canaan she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir, Mary E. Brown Missionary Ministry and the Tuesday Feeding Ministry.
Betty Williams Budd was preceded in death by her sister Pricilla Williams Butler. She also leaves to mourn her niece Robin and her husband Albert Sr. of Vienna, VA, their children Albert Jr and Courtney and a number of distant relatives and friends, who are too numerous to name, but who were special in so many ways.
