Brian Lamont
Cannedy
Jul 23, 1982 — Dec 28, 2025
Henrico
Brian Lamont Cannedy was born on July 23, 1982, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Cynthia N. Cannedy and James A. Pratt, Jr. He was raised in a Christian family and accepted the Lord at an early age, a foundation that remained an important part of his life. Brian was suddenly called home to his eternal rest on December 28, 2025, far too soon.
Brian attended James Monroe High School, where he developed his love for football and formed many meaningful, lifetime friendships. He later enrolled in Job Corps, where he received specialized training and certification as a welder. He continued to play football in an adult league and enjoyed fishing, swimming, and cooking his special creations in his free time. Known as a natural prankster and animated storyteller, he had a special gift for making people laugh and bringing joy to everyone around him. He also had a passion for working on and driving big cars--his favorite being his Cadillacs.
Brian relocated to Richmond, Virginia, in pursuit of entrepreneurship and new opportunities. He quickly settled in working at the BP Gas Station for several years, where he was well known and deeply loved by the community. A dedicated and hardworking man, Brian also operated his own cleaning business and was employed at various establishments, with his final position being a tow truck driver at Shank's Towing.
Above all else, Brian was a family man. His children were his heart, and his family meant the world to him. He would do anything in his power for the people he loved, always showing up with loyalty, protection, and care.
Brian leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Cynthia and James, and his beloved children: Christopher Jiovanni "CJ" Hall (formerly Chikyra) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Isaiah Cannedy-Coleman of Fairfax, Virginia; and Madilee Taylor and Mia Taylor of Richmond, Virginia. He is also survived by his partner Linnea Taylor, sisters Jennifer Pratt and Breanna (Will) Tippany, niece Makayla Carter, Grandmother Lady Hannah B. Pratt, as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will carry his memory in their hearts.
Brian will forever be remembered for his big heart, quick wit, and the love he so freely shared with everyone he encountered. His unforgettable stories, playful spirit, and smile brought light into countless lives. While his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, faith and cherished memories will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
In light of Brian's sudden passing, any contributions towards expenses would be deeply appreciated.
