Obituary

Christopher "Chris" Lee Phillips 62, son of the late Jessie A. Phillips Sr. and Ann G. Phillips Winston was born January 26,1963. He departed this life on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at the Ashland Convalescent Center in Ashland, VA.

At an early age he was baptized and joined the Bethany Baptist Church in Montpelier, VA.  Chris attended the Hanover County Public Schools as well as Fort Union Military Academy.  After his school years, Chris began painting houses with his Uncle Dwight Green.  Chris took to the trade and became a professional in that field.  He was a perfectionist and always wanted his work to be top notch. He could easily point out imperfections in your walls and explain how he would make them right. He was truly one of the best.

Chris enjoyed eating fresh fish as well as sitting on the bank catching them.  He was a Dallas Cowboy fan and lived life only as Chris could. He loved his family, but had no problems letting you know how he felt. If you didn't like what he said, well that was your problem not his. Yes, he always had a few choice words for just about anyone. Chris was truly a free spirit.

He is survived by his son, Bryan Minor (Amanda); two brothers Jessie Phillips Jr. and Timothy Phillips; six grandchildren Anyhia, Yadon, Amouri, Malaiah, Zoei and Royce; three aunts, Shirley White, Delores Green and Octavia Phillips; and one uncle, Tony Green (Kayko); one niece, Ashley and one nephew, Brandon. He also has three great-nieces, 4 great-nephews and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends
