Clyde Christopher Dabney - dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend - passed away peacefully at his home in Glen Allen, VA on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
Through the years, Clyde enjoyed racing antique cars, dancing, listening to music, attending sporting events, and spending time with his family.
He was born to David and Sylvester Dabney in Annefield, VA on April 25, 1950. He was one of ten kids. He graduated from John M. Gandy High School. He was known to be one of the best athletes to come out of Hanover County and dancer during his teenage years.
Clyde was blessed with a large and loving family. He met his wife to be, Alice. They were engaged and married six months later on September 25, 1978. Their romance lasted all 47 years and was blessed with four wonderful children and eight grandchildren. He lived vicariously through his children and grandchildren. They brought him so much joy and happiness.
Clyde was a music man who loved the sounds of southern soul. Like most music lovers, he couldn't help but to sing or dance. Clyde loved spending time with his family and friends; and talking with his twin brother "David Dabney Sr".
Clyde accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of St. James Baptist Church male choir. After which, he worked at International Paper and retired after 38 years of service.
After retiring in 2002, Clyde became more obsessed with attending the racetrack, and attending his grandkids sporting events.
Clyde was preceded by his father, David Dabney Sr. Sylvester Dabney (mother), Warren Dabney, Hazel Dabney (brothers), Linda Ruffin (sister), Keith Prince (son), and Melissa Dabney (niece). He is survived by his wife, Alice P Dabney ; his daughters Keisha, Kacey, and Katrina (Russell) and his eight grandchildren Christian, Keith Jr, Tamiyah, Michaela, Jayda, Jayde, Tori, and Mia; his sisters Marie, Regina (Karl), twin brother David Sr. (Patricia), James, Allen Sr, Craig and devoted nephew Alonzo Dabney.
