On June 13, 2019 God called Deacon Thomas Rush Proctor to eternal rest. He was educated in Hanover County Public Schools. He accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Elmont.
Thomas served in the United States Army where he proudly fought to protect his country. After returning home, he worked for the Railroad and then worked at Randolph Macon College as a Field Technician where he retired after 36 years. Thomas loved the Lord and was a faithful servant at First Baptist Church of Elmont.
He fell in love with his beautiful late wife Annie D. Proctor and celebrated 54 years of matrimony. From this union came a devoted and dedicated son, Kevin.
Thomas was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, father-in-law and friend to all. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
He leaves to cherish his memory: devoted son Kevin T. Proctor; daughter-in-law Michelle L. Proctor; grandson Darryl Brown; granddaughters Kayla Proctor, Kristen Bowman and Mia Staten; great granddaughter Ava Brown; sister-in-law Arlene D. Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife Annie D. Proctor and his loving parents Emma Cambell (mother) and Rush Proctor (father).
