Obituary for Elizabeth Bond Arrington

Elizabeth (Liz) Arrington was born in Windsor, Bertie County, North Carolina on February 2, 1939, to Willie & Annetta Bond. She passed peacefully to eternal rest on January 5, 2019, at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, Virginia.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her faithful and devoted son Linwood (Buddy) Walker, Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA (his father Linwood Walker, Sr.), her adopted son, David Seal, Llano, TX; two sons preceded her in death, Wayne Walker and Angelo Walker of Chesapeake, VA (daughter-in-law Barbara Walker); her brother John Bond (Ann) of Woodbridge, VA; grandson Arrington Walker; grand-daughters Shayla and Lauren Walker, and extended granddaughters Jasmine and Ashley Burnette. A nephew John Bond, Jr and niece Michelle Bond. She had two special daughters Lisa Walker and Theresa Watson. Her best friends for life, Barbara Hamilton, Lois Brooks and Jacqueline McCrae. A special friend Raymond Wilson and a host of cousins and dear friends.

Liz was educated in the Bertie County school system and she received her Associates Degree in New York. She retired as a shipping manager for Nabisco Corporation in New York and New Jersey after more than 30 years of service.

She loved life and serving the Lord, who she accepted at an early age. She was an ordained Deaconess at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Manhattan, New York under Rev. Calvin Butts, Pastor. She moved to Stafford, Virginia in 2001, and became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church (Old Site) in Fredericksburg, Virginia, under Rev. Dr. Lawrence Davies, Pastor. She served faithfully on the “Walker’s Auxiliary Ministry”.

Liz was free spirited, loved to travel, sew and cook for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. We will not worry, question or try to reason why. We know it was her time to pass on. She is free now. We know we will have another meeting on God’s eternal day. The Angels rejoice to welcome Liz in Zion, her new home. No more earthly suffering, now she has entered into eternal love, joy, peace and happiness. Until we meet again.

Liz’s famous words, “You Done Good”!
