Eureatha "Ree”
Tyler
Aug 16, 1945 — Aug 14, 2025
Eureatha (affectionately known as "Ree") was born in Whitaker, North Carolina, to Alberta and Albert Williams. When she was about a year old, she moved with her family to Richmond, Virginia, where she attended Richmond Public Schools. Ree worked as a dietitian and later as a Women's Foundation Clerk (bra specialist) at Thalhimer. Continuing her education, she went on to teach at Presbyterian Church.
Ree cherished time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She was known for her daily walks to her favorite convenience store, her love of listening to spirituals, and her joy in watching the world go by from her screen door. She often shared her unique dream of one day petting a lion.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Kevia (Michael) Hodge and James Tyler; her grandchildren Qunke Tyler, James Gray, Oddessey Hodge, MyKevia Hodge, Micheal Hodge Jr., Ny'Asia Tyler, and Linwood Royster; her great-grandson Ashton Lee-Waller; her sister and brother-in-law A. Pearl and Mick Mickelberry; her nephew and niece Wesley and Kymm Friend; her nephew DeAndre Friend; her in-laws Rachel and Russell Hodge; her nieces Sherry and Karen Smith; and her cousin Reverend Ida Mae, along with many more relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
