Frances Mae Poindexter Holland, age 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at her home in Midlothian, Virginia on September 16, 2026, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Known affectionately to everyone as "Mae". She was a dedicated and faithful member of Mount Gilliam Old Site Baptist Church. Mae was born as the oldest of five children to the late Rena Mae Childs Poindexter and Alex Poindexter, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip A. Holland; son, Jason Holland; and her two sisters, Beatrice Alfreda Poindexter and Essie Deloris Bookurn. Mae leaves behind a devoted sister, Rena Francine Poindexter, and her brother, Jamial Abdul Kareem.

In 1966, Mae started working at Louisa Manufacturing as a seamstress and retired in 1989. Shortly after, she became a daycare provider. She loved every child as if they were her own.

After graduating from A.G. Richardson High School, Mae married Phillip and together they were blessed with four children: Jason, Derrick, Tawana, and Tara. Mae's legacy will live on through her 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived and dearly remembered by a devoted niece Ebony and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
