George
Jackson
Jun 15, 1947 — Jan 3, 2026
King William
George Walter Jackson answered the Master's call on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center. He was born on June 15, 1947, in King William, Virginia, to the late Florine Ellis.
George was a husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Affectionately known as George Walter, Action Jackson, or simply Jack, he was a man whose presence was felt before his footsteps were heard. He wore his personality openly - not as a performance, but as an honest reflection of who he was. George spoke his mind with clarity and courage. If he cared, you knew it. If something mattered to him, he said so.
He was energized by people and thrived in social connection. George loved conversation, laughter, and storytelling, moving easily from one group to the next and effortlessly drawing quieter voices into the moment. By the time he finally took a seat, the room was already brighter and louder simply because he was there.
George grew up and received his education in the King William County School System. He accepted Christ at an early age at Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served on the Men's Usher Board and sang in the Men's Choir. He enjoyed time with family and friends and especially loved riding around on his motorcycle and in his antique trucks. More recently in his yellow Chevrolet truck, affectionately known as Sweet n Low. He worked faithfully for many years as a delivery truck driver and supervisor for Lowe's Home Improvement until his illness. Even then, George refused to slow down.
He leaves to cherish his memory his lovingly devoted wife, Blanche Jackson; his twin and baby daughter, Nicole Jackson, daughter Regina Jackson (Ray); sons, Erwin Spurlock (Denise), Marvin Spurlock (Tonya), Kenny Spurlock (Linda), and Jordan Thomas; sisters, Laverne James, Robertnette Ellis, Julia Gaines (Lonnie), and Cynthia Bennett (Eugene); and brother, Sydney Jackson (Paulette); aunts, Ophelia James, Lillie Jackson, and Flossie Jackson.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tevonte Prewitt, Tyler Spurlock, Rayvon Jackson, Denisha Spurlock, Kenny Spurlock Jr., Ryan Jackson, Amir Jackson, and Eiden Harvey; great-grandchildren, Keith Prewitt, Kevon Prewitt, Novah Jackson, Rayvon Jackson Jr., and Knox Spurlock; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and long-time friends, including Mckinley Harris, Cathy Harris, Sandra Banks, Michael Taylor, Donald Morrow and Lloyd Wilkerson.
He was predeceased by his Mother Florine Ellis, Sister Amanda Jackson and long-time friend Aubrey Lee Harris and we take comfort in knowing they welcomed him with open arms.
George Walter Jackson will be remembered for his bold spirit, his open heart, and the joy he brought wherever he went. His memory will forever live on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
