Obituary

Today, we gather not just in sorrow but in profound gratitude to celebrate the life of Gloria Elaine Morris, affectionally known as "Elaine." She was born and raised in Hanover County, Virginia on October 17, 1951, to the late Beatrice "Louise" Morris and Eugene Randolph Morris. On November 16, 2025, God called her home to an eternal place of rest.

Elaine accepted Christ at a young age while attending Bethany Baptist Church. She also sung on the church choir.  She attended public schools in Hanover County, where she graduated.

Elaine was a source of strength for many. You could count on her to be there with no hesitation when you needed it. She was dedicated in caring for her nieces and nephews and made sure they never went without. She taught us what it means to work hard and love everyone. You could also count on her for her straightforwardness. She would not allow you to count corners.

After graduating from high school, Elaine found employment in Best Products in Ashland, VA where she worked over 30+ years. She then moved on to FFV in Richmond, VA until the door closed.  She later moved on to Randolph Macon College (2006) in Ashland, VA, where she was a custodial staff and retired in 2021. She also worked at Wendy's where she did part time work. She enjoyed playing spades, cooking Sunday dinners, ambulance chasing, softball games, and running behind her grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her three brothers, James (Hazel), Wilmore (Elaine) and Ernest (Carolyn).

She leaves to cherish her memories to her two sons, Kelvin (Jacqueline) and Dwayne Morris; one goddaughter, Lakeisha Hunter; three grandchildren, Jacquon (Katelyn) Turner, Demond and Shaniyah Morris; four great grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Isaac and Illiana; three god grandchildren, Keieondre, Karliyah, and Karlisih; three sisters, Bertha (James) Gattison, Alice Morris, Louise (Walter, deceased) Pleasants; one brother, Dedric Morris; one devoted niece, Michelle (Kenneth) Johnson; one devoted great niece, Kendra Johnson; six devoted friends, Francine, Lucy, Orange, Alice, Geraldine and Michael Phillips; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and close friends. Elaine may be gone but our memories of her will live on! Always loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
