Helena Jennifer
Harris
Jun 11, 1966 — Jul 3, 2025
It is with deep sorrow and overflowing love that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, cousin, aunt, niece and dear friend, Helena Harris , who went home to be with the Lord on July 3, 2025, surrounded by her closest family.
Helen was born June 11, 1966, to George and Ellen Taylor. Helena was educated by Caroline County public school. Helena was a member of Mt. Zion Church Baptist church and a woman who loved the Lord with her whole heart. She lived her life in service to others always giving, speaking with warmth, and always showing love without hesitation. If Helena saw you, she was going to speak. That's just who she was: welcoming, joyful, and filled with kindness.
She had a special love for children and people in general. She never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand, share a word of encouragement, or offer a helping heart. Her presence brought comfort, and her smile could light up any room.
Helena worked faithfully at Walmart, where she was a dedicated employee for 11 years. Her friendly spirit touched the lives of coworkers and customers alike. Even outside of work, Helena's passion for caring for others showed in the way she remembered every birthday, holiday, and special occasion, often sending thoughtful cards and messages just to let you know she was thinking of you.
Helena adored her family and was proud of the relationships she nurtured throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Ellen Taylor, sisters Mary and Ellen her brothers Moses Curtis and Ulysis Taylor. She is survived by her father George Taylor, siblings: Florene Taylor, Gladyslee Taylor, Miracle Taylor, George Taylor, Jr., Samuel Taylor, Beverly Taylor and her aunt Eva Mum. Her devoted friends Lelia Derriott, Judy Johnson, Mary Woody and Nannie Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, all of whom she loved dearly and other family and friends.
Helena also cherished her extended family, including the devoted Howard and Gracie Jackson. They embraced with open arms and treated more than just a cousin; they showered her with unconditional love and kindness. They took her in and gave her a place to call home, love and care. Howard was dependable and protective. He made sure she got to everywhere she needed to go and offered her support anyway he could. When Helena became ill Gracie selflessly stepped in as her devoted caregiver, providing comfort and compassion during her time of need.
Helena's life was a beautiful example of compassion, devotion, and grace. She leaves behind a legacy of love and light that will live on in every heart she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
