James Stewart McCowan, Jr. age 27 of Manakin-Sabot, Virginia, better known as “Jamie” or “Mack”, transitioned into eternal rest on October 16, 2019.
Jamie gave his life to the Lord and was baptized at an early age. Jamie attended Goochland County Public School and he graduated in 2012.
Jaime loved basketball and played while attending Goochland High School. Jamie was also an avid gamer, and enjoyed playing “Pub G” and “Madden”. Jaime also loved watching movies and T.V. shows, some of his favorites were Power, Shameless, and Do the Right Thing. Jaime enjoyed riding around, hanging out most likely with his buddy "Trice". At the time of his death he was employed by Tyson Foods. Jamie loved spending time with his family, especially his devoted niece Ashareya Williams. whom he loved and treated more like a sister than a niece. Jaime's love for his niece was evident when he said "I never thought I could love anyone until she came along." They enjoyed doing many things together, especially eating out at their favorite restaurants, "Chipotle and Teppanyaki. Jaime's love for his sister Chanelle, was beyond this world and the bond they shared was truly unbreakable. The two did everything together and although he was younger than Tootie, Jaime still managed to boss her around as if he was older.
Jaime always greeting those he knew and didn’t know with an infectious smile and a warm gentle hug. Jamie had an upbeat pleasant personality, was a humorous young man. Jaime was always a delight to be around and has truly touched the lives of those who had the pleasure to know him.
He was preceded in death by his sister Rochelle McCowan and grandparents Colonial Fleming and Wallace & Gladys McCowan. Jaime was also preceded in death by his aunts Diane Lewis, Sheila and Yolanda McCowan.
Jamie leaves to cherish in loving memory, his devoted parents James and Shirley McCowan, Sr.; son, Ahmad King; sister, Chanelle McCowan; niece, Ashareya Williams; grandmother, Viola Fleming. In addition, he leaves to cherish one aunt, Sandra Spady; seven uncles Colonial, Jr., Alonzo (Robin) Fleming, James Tyler, Wallace, William (Carol), Milton (Emma), Shawn McCowan; four great-aunts Barbara Powell (James), Jeroline Harris, and Brenda McCowan, and devoted Lelia Derricott; seven great-uncles, John Smith, Jr., Reuben Bentley (Diane), Charles (Bessie), Lloyd, Robert McCowan (Louise), Marion Carter and Emanuel Woodson; one great-great aunt Hazel Woodson. A host of devoted cousins, among them Dominique, Kiana and Victoria McCowan, Laruen Rowell. A host of other friends among them two devoted, James Trice and a special friend, Daneisha Minor. Jamie also leaves his beloved pets, Bruno, Connor and Cocco.
