Obituary for Janet Carter

Janet Jones Carter daughter of William T. Jones and the late Cora Jones peacefully departed this life on August 22, 2019. Janet was born on March 29, 1960 in Ashland, VA.

She attended Richmond City Public Schools and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1978. At an early age she gave her life to Christ and joined Greenwood Baptist church.

Where she became a member of the Gospelettes (that later known as the Voices of Inspiration) started by her mother and sister Mae Winston.

After she moved to Richmond to live with her husband Lindsay, she worked at Children’s Hospital for number of years. She later joined God’s Miracle Church where she would become the Praise Team leader. Eventually she settled into a job at Universal Health Services where she has remained for the past five years.

She was preceded in death by her sister Darlene J. Bradley. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband Lindsay Carter Jr.; daughters Tameka Jones and Keiona McBride (Demetrius); son Teron Carter; brothers William D. Jones (Evelyn) and Darryl T. Jones (Katrina); grandchildren Tavaris, Shamira, Rahmell, and Emery; five step-children Trey, Thomas, Marilyn, Detria, and Nicole; ten step-grandchildren; three sister-in-laws; two brother-in-laws and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was a devoted, loving, kind, and God-fearing wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She is, was and continues to be loved by everyone.

What a beautiful soul inside and out. I was truly blessed the day I met you so kind so sweet everyday even when you were not feeling well. God as has promised us that we will be with him in paradise . I know you have made it. You ran your race no take your rest in the arms of the Lord.
