Jeremiah O'Neal,
Jr.
Dec 20, 1957 — Dec 19, 2024
Stafford
SERVICE RESCHEDULE TO MONDAY
JANUARY 13, 2025
Jeremiah Oneal Jr. (also known as "June" or "Jerry") peacefully passed away on December 19th, 2024, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Fairfax, VA, after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his wife and children.
Born to Katie Mae (McClendon) O'Neal and Jeremiah O'Neal Sr. on December 20, 1957, in Dublin, GA, Jeremiah was baptized at the age of 6 at Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Dublin, Ga. He attended Laurens County Public Schools and graduated from East Laurens High School in 1974. Jeremiah furthered his education at the United Electronics Institute in Tampa, Florida and earned an electronics technology diploma in 1977. He graduated with a B.S. Degree in Information Technology from Strayer University in 2000. Through his dedication and hard work, Jeremiah was hired as an electronic technician at the Interstate Electronics Corporation in Anaheim, California and the rest was history. He worked at several engineering companies before he retired from E-Systems, now called Raytheon Technologies, Fairfax, Va, as a Cyber Security Analyst in 2012. Jeremiah was an avid learner that obtained several certifications including "Master in Automotive Servicing". Everyone knows he loved performance cars.
Jeremiah spoke warmly of his childhood, marked by his contributions to his family, including helping his father on the family's farm and maintaining the family home. During this time, Jeremiah shadowed his father's dedication to sustaining the family's legacy through his hard work. Because of his strong work ethic, Jeremiah passed along this skill set to his children. He actively engaged in educating other individuals of all ages, sharing his expertise on the economy, budgeting, stock market, career exploration, the culinary arts, home and car maintenance, and the appreciation of music. He was considered the neighborhood "Mr. Fix It". Neighbors would often drop off lawn mower equipment and other equipment for repair at no charge or offered donations because they loved the knowledge that he shared.
Preceding Jeremiah in death were his parents, Jeremiah O'Neal Sr. and Katie Mae (McClendon) O'Neal; sister, Geraldine O'Neal; father-in-law, Windell Turner and brothers-in-law Cleveland Davis and McArthur Brown.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Evangeline O'Neal of 28 years, children Brittany O'Neal, Joshua O'Neal, and Jairus O'Neal; sisters, Eliza (Cleveland) O'Neal Davis and Darlene (McArthur) O'Neal Brown; mother-in-law, Ann Turner; brother-in-law, Gary (Diana) Keys and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
