Kenneth
Coleman
Mar 10, 1956 — Feb 3, 2025
Richmond
VIEWING AND FUNERAL HAVE BEEN RESCHEDULED
PLEASE SEE BELOW
Kenneth Leon Coleman entered into his eternal resting place on February 3, 2025. In spite of his health issues, he thanked and praised God until he took his last breath. He also thanked God for giving him the strength to fight and for the love he felt from his family for uplifting his spirits and taking care of him.
Kenneth or "Kenny" as most called him was born on March 10, 1956 in Richmond Virginia to the late Ollie Coleman Jr. and Alice M. Robinson. He attended Hanover County Schools and Richmond Public Schools. Kenny often expressed fond memories of growing up in Ashland.
Kenny accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined Brown Grove Baptist Church in Ashland at a young age. He loved attending church, singing in the choir and most of all, he loved God. He was the President of Brown Grove Baptist Church Male Chorus and he also sung with the Rainey Memorial Gospel Choir for many years until his health declined.
Kenny worked at MCV as a Pharmacist Assistant and at Richmond Nursing Home as a CNA for several years. He also worked at Wendy's until he resigned due to health issues.
He was proceeded in death by his Parents: Ollie JR and Alice, Nephews: William and Dawyan Coleman and Niece: Tiffany Johnson.
He is survived by his siblings: Ollie Lewis (Ann), Dale, Deborah, Mildred, Jacquline, Gale, Shannon, a host of nieces and nephews, 6 aunts, 3 uncles. Devoted friends: Aurthur Coles, Michael Johnson Sr, Robert Harris Jr, Jackie Haynes and a host of other relatives and friends.
Kenneth was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was the" life of the party". He enjoyed singing, dancing and living life to the fullest. He would always say "In life you have to take the bitter with the sweet" to remind everyone that "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" (Psalms 30:5).
Remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived and for the profound impact he had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
