Marcus O.
Green
Oct 21, 1955 — Aug 30, 2025
Richmond
Marcus Orlando Green, affectionately known as "Marty" to family and friends, was born in Caroline County, Virginia on October 21, 1955, to the late Adell Elaine Green Morris and Thomas Fields. On August 30, 2025, God called him home to an eternal place of rest.
Marty accepted Christ at a young age while attending 2nd Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He attended public schools in Caroline County, where he was active in basketball, football, and track.
After graduating from high school, Marty found employment with Richfood Holdings and FedEx located in Richmond and Chesterfield, Virginia respectively. He later became involved in the trucking Industry, driving tractor trailers for J. B. Hunt, where he traveled through parts of the Eastern United States. Marty enjoyed the open road, visiting many different states and places, always enjoying the people that he met and the scenery. While on the road, he would stop at various food markets to search for food items that were hard to find in the Richmond area.
Marty was big on family and believed that family should always look out for one another. He loved fishing and often took his grandsons fishing with him; hoping to see them catch their first fish. When he was not on the road driving trucks, Marty loved to travel with his wife, Patricia, enjoyed viewing their favorite TV shows on Friday nights and gathering the family to watch his favorite football team, The New England Patriots. He was also a bowling enthusiast and participated in several national bowling tournaments.
Marty leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Patricia; son, Marcus Green Jr.; one daughter, Ariel Jefferies (Jamal); one goddaughter, Nishonda James; seven grandchildren, Israel, Kia, Leilani, Sayani, Torri, Tessa and Nico; four brothers, Kent (Elaine), Timothy (Gwendolyn), Wilmore (Michelle) and Purvis (Felicia); one devoted aunt, Viola Jefferson; mother-in-law, Louise Bradley; one brother-in-law, Bobby Bradley (Virginia); a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and close friends. His best friends forever were Timothy (T.S.), Harold, Bojo, Lerone, Bob and Larry. Marty was preceded in death by one brother, Ralph Green.
Marty may be gone but our memories of him will live on! Always loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
