Nicole Lynette Russ entered into eternal life on February 24, 2019 at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Henrico, VA. She was born on December 11, 1969 to Carnell W. Brown and the late Hugh G. Brown.
Nicole accepted Christ at an early age at Bethany Baptist Church in Montpelier, VA, and later joined Ebenezer Baptist Church in Beaverdam, VA. She was a member of the J.W. Kinney Singers, the ME (Mary and Elizabeth) Ministry, the Scholarship Committee, and served as the Church Financial Secretary.
Nicole attended Hanover County Public Schools and graduated from Patrick Henry High School. After graduation, she attended Hampton University majoring in Accounting. She received her master's degree from Strayer University. She worked for Suntrust Bank for many years and was currently employed at H&R Block where she worked for over 25 years.
Nicole was a sweet and kind hearted person and would do anything for anybody. Nicole loved children and most called her Aunty Cole. Her two nieces, Jade and Brooke, were the apple of her eye. Nicole loved working at H&R Block. She always looked forward to attending homecoming festivities at her alma mater "the real HU" Hampton University. Nicole loved being around her family and doing the "Wobble." She was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
She leaves to mourn her husband, Henry "Brad" Russ; devoted mother, Carnell W. Brown; sisters, Jeannine B. Layell (Earl), Phyllis Akil, and Kiana Brown; brother, Hugh G. Brown, Jr.; nieces and nephews, two devoted, Jade and Brooke Layell; aunts, Grendolyn Johnson (Jerry), Orange Thomas, and Ruth Holmes (James); uncles, John Wyatt, Acie Wyatt, and James Brown; great-aunts, Eula Lewis and Juanita Henderson; and a host of relatives and friends. Honorary Grandmother, Janice "Nana" Twisdale. Three devoted friends, James Tunstall, Celina Lilly, and Stacy Ahyoung. One God child, Noah Lilly.
Even in death Nicole gave life. Her final act of kindness was being an organ donor. Henrico Doctors Hospital paid respect to her with the first ever walk of honor with her family and pastor following.
