Shirley was born in Colonial Beach, VA on December 17, 1948, she was the fifth child born to the late Thomas and Elizabeth Bryant.
Shirley attended A.T. Johnson Public Schools and was graduate of the class of 1968. She was later joined in Holy Matrimony to Jose Martinez in 1973.
Shirley accepted Christ at an early age while attending First Baptist Church, Colonial Beach, VA until she later transferred her membership to Good Hope Baptist Church, King George, VA where she was an active member of the Senior Ushers Board and Women’s Ministry until her health began to fail her.
She spent most of her working life at various locations around the town of Colonial Beach but was most fond of her position at Rankin True Value where she served the public for 17 years until she retired.
Shirley’s love for flowers showed in her beautiful gardens that she could be found tending to at any time during the spring and summers. She was an avid reader with a love of romance novels and western trilogies. Her Kindness and Sharing Spirit to all she came in contact with was met with what she was most known for, that bright beautiful smile and Sassy attitude. To know her was to definitely Love Her.
