A Time to Be Born

Shirley was born May 15, 1957. Shirley was educated in Louisa County Schools System. She joined Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Montpelier VA at an early age. Shirley was employed with Pizza Hut, currently under the Flynn Group for over 35 years, she also owned her own Trucking Business for a short period. Shirley enjoyed getting together with her group of lady friends for an evening of laughter and Spades. Shirley would hang out with her cousin Carolyn Powell and the next day; just laugh how good of a time they had and the "trouble" they almost got in. Whenever Shirley was missing, she was out with her special friend Michael Rogers.

Expressions of Gratitude

Special thanks to all the nurses at Henrico DR's Hospital Skipwith 3rd Floor Oncology Unit who took great care of Shirley, going above and beyond to make sure Shirley had the best care possible. For all the Hospice of Virginia Staff who came to her bedside to offer prayer and care for her as well as the family members and friends who stopped by in her final hour. To her sister Ludie Lynette (Lucy) who refused to leave Shirley's side, acting as her sounding board, bodyguard, personal caretaker even while surrounded by DR's and nurses around the clock. You are definitely more than a sister you are Heaven sent. Shirley was in the best hands until she took the hand of her Father and walked through Heaven's gates.
