Obituary for Sylvester "Sly" Lacy

Sylvester Lewis Lacy of Doswell, Virginia went home to be with the lord on March 8, 2019 at 6:30PM.

He was born March 18, 1960 to the late Charles and Mary Lacy. He obtained his Associates Degree at J Sargent Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Benard Lacy and Mary Lee Wingfield. Three siblings Charles Lacy, Admond Lacy, Dorothy Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Karen Lacy. Six children Bre'Ona Lacy-Hunte (Kamau Hunte), La'Shae Winston, Sylvester Lacy Jr., Steven Lee, Sheorn Henderson, and LaVon Wright. Four grandchildren Genevieve Lacy, Olivia Martin, Takiera Wilkerson, and Steven Lee Jr. One sister Barbara Ann Lacey-Mickens (Roland Mickens). Three dedicated friends Sherwood Fountain, Buster Robinson, and Kenny Grey. A host of Nieces and Nephews and cousins.

Memories

Sylvester was owner of Unique Barbershop & Salon and a skilled master barber. He was a overall entrepreneur and skilled in so many trades. Sylvester was a known hardworker and loving family man. He did many back to school drives for the children of Richmond public schools and volunteered at many career days at the Richmond Technical Center. Sylvester helped his hometown of Doswell, VA and Richmond, VA in countless ways. He'd give his last to a stranger to those who knew him loved him dearly some say he was the "smoothest man around".
