Obituary for Thomas (Tom-Fred) Pryor

Thomas (Tom Fred) Winfred Pryor passed away peacefully on December 8, 2018. Born April 13, 1939, he was preceded in death by his parents Sylvester W and Blanche I Pryor. He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters Virginia Harris, Ophelia Pryor, Joyce Pryor, Theresa Jackson (Edwin), Sandra Pryor, one brother Curtis Pryor (Deborah), and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Tom joined Bethany Baptist Church at an early age and attended every Sunday until his health declined. He attended Hanover County Public Schools where he graduated from John M Gandy High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army on April 23, 1963 serving in Fort Lee Virginia and Germany, and honorably discharged on April 23, 1965. He was employed at Holly Farms now known as Tyson Poultry for 60 plus years in different positions.

Tom was a wonderful and kind person who did things his own way. Though he was a quiet and reserved person he will surely be missed.

Condolences

As did many, I worked with Mr. Pryor at Tyson Foods... we were security at the time (perhaps 2008 through 2012). We spoke a lot about God and life. I learned how to be a better person. He will be missed. Peace and Blessings to the family.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss and encouragement from the scriptures. Jehovah God has promised that one day there will be no more pain sickness or death. He will wipe all tears from our eyes (Revelation 21:3-4 and Isaiah 25:8). Jesus promise at John 5:28-29 gives the hope that we can be reunited with those we lose to death. Until that time, please hold dear to your heart all of the wonderful memories of your dear loved one.
