Obituary for Tia M Blackwell

God decided to give our beloved Tia her angel wings and called her for her next assignment. Tia was born on February 28, 1981 to Richard L. and Karen Y. Taylor in Baltimore Maryland. She departed this world on May 21, 2019 in Fayetteville, Georgia with her husband of 12 years Keon Blackwell by her side.

Tia’s early years were spent living all over the world as part of a military family. She had the amazing opportunity to live in Maryland, Hawaii, California, Virginia, North Carolina & Japan. She loved to travel because it allowed her to meet people and experience different cultures. While living in each of these places Tia adapted to her environment, she even began to learn Japanese during her time in Japan. While living in Jacksonville, NC Tia was baptized at the Marshall Chapel. Tia joined Mt. Zion Baptist Church (Virginia) in 1998. Tia graduated from Brooke Point High School in Virginia in 1999 and decided to further her education at Virginia Commonwealth University for two years.

On May 19, 2007 Tia married Keon Blackwell. Together they loved and parented their children Brianna J and Bryce E Blackwell. This union allowed Tia to travel once again. The couple lived in Maryland, California, Virginia & Georgia. While living in Georgia Tia decided to share her gifts with others by starting a podcast dedicated to working mothers. While still working on her own podcast, she also contributed other various websites by writing and speaking on topics like beauty, motherhood and entrepreneurship. Tia had over 700 followers on her social media sites which further speaks to her willingness to both meet people and to share her passion to help others realize their dreams even as she worked towards making her own a reality.

Tia’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family. She is survived by her husband Keon Blackwell, children Brianna J and Bryce E Blackwell; her parents Richard L and Karen Y Taylor; her sister Towanda T Taylor and brother Terrance B Taylor. Tia will also be missed greatly by her grandmother, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 2 aunts and 4 uncles, as well as a plethora of other family members and friends.

I did not know Mrs. Blackwell personally but I used to see her beauty posts on facebook. I am shocked to see her face here on the obituary list. This is a terrible reminder of how short life can be and how quickly it can come to an end. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. May Jehovah provide you with comfort and support during this difficult time. May warm memories bring a smile to your face and joy to your heart when you need it most. Keep your mind fixed on the resurrection hope found at Acts 24:15 and continue to pray for the future that Jehovah has promised us where sickness and death will be no more, where violence and wickedness will be gone and our days will be full of peace and tranquility. (Psalm 37:9, 10 and Isaiah 32:18). Please visit for detailed information on the hope for us and our loved ones who are sleeping in death. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
