Tim was born on December 27, 1950 to the late Jack Duane Travis and Euna June Travis. He was the third child of 6 children. He was a graduate of Montrose High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Euna Travis, and his brother Jack Travis, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife of 42 years Frances Elizabeth Travis, three sons, Jeffery Johnson (Tamasa), Timothy Travis, Jr. (Renee), Tyrone Travis (Shirley), two daughters, Tabitha Cole (Fred), and Tiffany Corbin (James); fifteen grandchildren: J’Na and Jeffery Johnson, Jr., Toni and Tori Cole, Marcus and Malachi Travis, James, Jordan, Jairus, Jonathan and Grace Corbin, Amiyah and Tyrone Travis, Jr., Cameron Harrison and Aaliyah Robertson; two great grandchildren, Ace and Ava Cole; four sisters, Terry Johnson (Marty), Judy Vedo (Paul), Amy Burke (Ken), Brenda McGehee (Harold), one brother Jeff Travis (Wanda); and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Tim moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended and completed Cosmetology school. He worked for Butin Paint Company as a delivery driver, worked as an apartment maintenance manager and painter. He was known to be a hard worker, oftentimes working multiple jobs. He was a master at his craft and eventually went into business for himself as a full time painter. Prior to his move to Virginia, Tim was chauffeur and treasurer for his church. As a teenager, he dedicated his life to God. He praised God relentlessly for all the blessings in his life.

He moved to Virginia in 1982. He said he was blessed with so many wonderful customers, and many became life long friends. Tim was unpretentious, extremely modest, straight forward, sincere, and humble. He had a strong faith that he shared and witnessed to family, friends, and strangers. He was a devoted and caring husband and father. He loved to plant flowers and vegetables and then watch them grow. Tim always had a project to complete at home and he always did it with a smile. Even with his many medical conditions he still managed to laugh and minister to others.

Tim did painting for us several years ago and we continue to receive kind, Christian messages from him each Christmas. He was a fine painter and a witness for Jesus. I know he touched many with his gentle spirit. Praying that sweet memories give his family many reasons to smile in the days ahead.

We consider it a privilege to have known Tim Travis these last nine years. He became more than a painter to our family. He was someone we gladly welcomed into our home and we actually felt sad after he had finished painting every room in our home, including the outside trim and staining our deck. We were ready to start all over again just to be able to invite him back! Even our cat Moxie loved Tim so much we had to lock him away so Tim could work! He will be missed not just for his skills and work ethic but for his humble, kind nature. He loved his family and they will surely miss him terribly. Thank you for sharing him with us. Have fun in heaven, Tim!

Last year we asked Tim to paint our house. He wasn\\'t just our painter, as he became a quick friend. We learned through many conversations what a lovely man he was. He was devoted to his wife, family and friends. He was devoted to God and lived his life as God would have us all do: to care about and help everyone whom he came in contact with in any way he could. We know he will be missed by all who knew him and we send our deepest sympathy to his family. Ron and Betty Vickers
