Her Life……

Willnette Pecolia Jackson was called from labor to reward on Thursday, May 15, 2025. She was preceded in death by her father Deacon James Jackson; mother, Gertrude W. Jackson and sister Sheena Jackson.

Willnette was educated in Hanover County Public School System.  Graduating from Patrick Henry High School in 1973.  Receiving her Associate's Degrees from J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in 1975 and Bachelor's Degree from Norfolk State University in 1977.  She was a retired teacher in the Virginia Public School System and the Lynchburg Correctional Center.

She was a member of the Hanover Education Association, Virginia Education Association and the National Education Association.    Though she had no biological children of her own, her students became her children.

Affectionally called "Net" she joined Brown Grove Baptist Church at an early age and served as a child usher.  She was a member of the Senior Ministry, Women's Ministry and member of the Scholarship Committee.

"Net" enjoyed traveling – Paris, London, Bahamas and she last travelled to Bermuda in 2022 on a cruise.  She stayed abreast of current affairs.  She was a lifelong member of the NAACP.  "Net" was a loving sister, aunt, cousin and friend and loved family gatherings.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her sister Alnita Gertrude Jackson and nephew James W. Jackson; longtime friend Michael Tutweiler and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
